Piper Aircraft, Inc. is a general aviation aircraft manufacturer based at the Vero Beach Municipal Airport in Vero Beach, Florida. It is owned by the Government of Brunei since the year 2009. Piper was considered as one of the Big Three of general aviation manufacturing, together with Beechcraft and Cessna.

Piper Aircraft was founded as the Taylor Brothers Aircraft Manufacturing Company in September 1927 by Clarence and Gilbert Taylor. It was originally located in Rochester, New York. It was renamed as Taylor Brothers Aircraft Corporation, as Taylor Aircraft Company, as Piper Aircraft Corporation, as the New Piper Aircraft Corporation, and again as Piper Aircraft Corporation, after a series of reorganization over the years, until it got acquired by Imprimis, a Singapore-based investment strategy funded by the Government of Brunei.

Piper was able to produce around 144,000 aircraft for its 160 certified models. Around 90,000 of which is said to still be flying to this date.
